EPB 2025 | Creative Direction and Production Design
The Emilia Pardo Bazán Medal 2025 celebrates the legacy of one of Spain’s most visionary feminist writers. The project’s goal was to create a contemporary, poetic and sensorial art direction, honoring Emilia’s modern spirit and her deep connection between nature, intellect and womanhood. The direction combined visual research, digital design, scenography and symbolism to transform the space into a living homage.

A visual tribute to the pioneering spirit of Emilia Pardo Bazán: writer, thinker and one of Spain’s first voices of feminism.
For the Emilia Pardo Bazán Medal 2025, the creative direction explored the intersection between nature, reflection and womanhood, transforming the project into a living, sensorial homage.
The project unfolded as a dialogue between the organic and the intellectual, the past and the present, where every element, from scenography to identity, reflects Emilia’s enduring vision of freedom and transformation.
The creative direction was built around the idea of an “Alive Archive”, a visual and spatial narrative where Emilia’s memory is not static, but alive, growing and transforming through today’s women. Natural and reflective elements (flowers, moss, mirrors, light) became visual metaphors for continuity, empathy and reflection. The atmosphere was designed to feel warm, collective and intimate: a halo of dialogue and equality.
Midjourney and Flora were used as tools for conceptual exploration and mood development, generating textures, floral compositions and lighting atmospheres inspired by modernist aesthetics and organic materials. This stage allowed for an expanded creative process: blending historical references with contemporary visual codes and new technologies.
All visual elements were curated to echo Emilia’s duality: the intellectual and the natural. Typography and archival imagery coexisted with organic materials — dried flowers, mirrors, stone and linen — forming a language that was both earthy and editorial. Every choice was guided by symbolism: roots (origin), trunks (her work), moss and dried flowers (the legacy of women) and mirrors (continuity and reflection).
The final experience combined visual, spatial, and sound elements:
–A tactile scenography inspired by nature and modernist materials. –A minimalist yet expressive visual identity for screens and invitations. –A soundscape blending feminist quotes from Emilia with voices of young girls and natural sounds — linking innocence, wisdom and continuity.
The project reimagines Emilia Pardo Bazán not as a figure of the past, but as a living presence — a seed that continues to bloom through art, dialogue and collective memory. It was both a tribute and a conversation: between history and the present, between the intellectual and the natural, between reflection and transformation.
